Today I’m doing a rare in-person discussion with Teacher Zdenek.
Zdenek has more than 12 years of experience in various settings, primarily teaching English learners of levels B2-C2. He’s taught English in the Czech Republic, UK, Ireland and most recently Vietnam.
Zdenek has also moved to Vietnam, and that’s why we were able to meet up nearby in Bangkok for a casual discussion. We speak about moving abroad, learning the local language, habit-building, teaching English, naughty tourists, and much more!

Hi Leah! Lumpini park is amazing! I’ve never been to another park that has lizards (basically dinosaurs!) walking around calmly.

Thank you for this lovely episode. I love this audio sound because the background sounds of birds singing are beautiful and the pace of you two talking each other is not jammed and so comfortable to listen.
I got the first-time IELTS result ‘Band 6’ yesterday and was actually depressed a bit. But I’ve got motivated again thankful to listening to your conversations.
Thanks, Misa! I’m glad you think so. I did edit the sound at first to make our voices clearer, but it totally removed all the birds which I thought was a shame, so I tried to find a balance.
Band 6 certainly doesn’t mean your English is bad, so don’t let it get you down! I’m glad you feel more motivated again though. Let me know how it goes next time if you try again
