Body Language
I’ve always been interested in body language, and today I’d like to share that interest with you all.
I’m going to be reviewing and reacting to some amazing body language facts from some articles while sharing my opinions, experiences, and a lot of new vocabulary and expressions.
I hope you learn something new today – whether it’s about how you can position your body to change how people see you, or simply just some new English words.
Body Language Stuff I Found Out
Eye Contact
In many cultures, eye contact is seen as a positive sign and that you’re listening. In fact, in one study, waitresses who touched them customers on the shoulder while serving them received higher tips.
Mirroring
People tend to copy the body language (mirror) of people they like or respect, and it’s totally subconscious. If you notice someone copying the way you’re sitting, that could be the answer!
Interestingly, women seem to do this more than men.
Head Tilt
Tilting your head to one side can be a sign of curiosity (and I would also say sympathy). Interestingly, this doesn’t seem unique to humans since dogs often do this too, but perhaps for different reasons.
